2 tips to extend the life of molecular sieves

Molecular sieve, because of its strong adsorption capacity and high temperature resistance, is widely used in many industrial enterprises. The commonly used molecular sieves produced by JXKELLEY are 3A, 4A, 5A, 13X and other types of molecular sieves. So how to extend the service life of molecular sieve through 2 techniques?
1. Use environment
1. The use environment of molecular sieve is related to its environmental humidity, trial pressure, filling density, etc. It can be used for 2-3 years under normal circumstances. If the storage environment is good, and there is no production accident, its lifespan can be used for more than 5 years.
2. New molecular sieves, unless it is clearly indicated that they have been activated and sealed. Otherwise, it still needs to be activated by high temperature baking, generally 500 degrees is enough. Activation is carried out in a muffle furnace. It is better to pass the cylinder air or nitrogen into the furnace, and then naturally cool to about 100 degrees under ventilation conditions, take it out and transfer it to a desiccator for airtight storage.
2. How to use
1. Correct use of molecular sieve. During the operation, we should operate in strict accordance with the design value of the adsorption equipment, and strictly follow the key indicators such as the flow rate, temperature, pressure, switching time of the feed set by the system. The set value cannot be changed arbitrarily. A molecular sieve adsorption device with reasonable design and proper use should be used for 24’000-40’000 hours, which is about 3 to 5 years.

2. High-quality molecular sieve can greatly reduce the water content in the air, prevent the pollution of lubricating oil, correct heating and regeneration, and remove powder in time. In addition, in the molecular sieve regeneration process, it is best to use the product dry gas treated by molecular sieve or the low dew point gas of other processes, and it is not suitable to use room temperature air to regenerate the molecular sieve bed.
3. In the cooling stage, pay attention to proper operation. The heating in the regeneration process should be carried out slowly in stages and cannot be directly heated to 200-300 degrees. The bed of the regenerated molecular sieve is directly backflushed, and the regeneration gas must stay at about 150 degrees when heating. The heating and regeneration time is also an important point worth paying attention to.

How to judge that the molecular sieve in the factory needs to be replaced? Generally, we can check whether it has expired according to the instructions for use. If it expires, it needs to be replaced. If the molecular sieve has entered water, it needs to be replaced at any time. After water immersion, even if special regeneration is used, the molecular sieve will be under the impact of airflow. Lead to broken, easy to block the heat exchanger, and subsequent maintenance is more troublesome. At the same time, it depends on whether the moisture and carbon dioxide content of the purified gas are within the index. If it exceeds the index, it needs to be replaced immediately. Only by choosing a good operating environment, as well as preservation and maintenance, can its service life be effectively extended.
